Phuket

We took a proper holiday this past weekend with a trip to Phuket. You can get direct flight from Hong Kong and be there in 3.5 hours. Super easy getaway for a long weekend. Favorite theme from the weekend: Everywhere we went, all the locals asked if we were Australian. No we weren't busting out an accent. I guess they just don't get many American visitors and assume if you are white, you're an Aussie. Everything was super inexpensive when you get there, so we had lots of fun! There are lots of pictures, so visit my facebook album if you want to see the whole trip!

Upon arriving they gave us the flower garlands. Smelled divine!

Our hotel: Movenpick Resort

Love these huge ferns

And Banana trees

The spa, which we totally hit up

Our Bungalow

Complete with Outdoor shower

On our way to a market, we saw the Tuk Tuks- the only way to travel-more on them later

Who says Thailand doesn't love koozies? Of course we ended up with 2 more in our collection despite my protesting. Those of you who have seen our collection know why...it is a little out of control.

We tried to find out what Hong Thong was, but no luck.

This is for Sam Fletcher. Classy baby!

Mmm...street meat...

Back at the hotel before our night out

Out to Patong, which requires a Tuk Tuk. The taxi dispatcher couldn't understand why we wanted the Tuk Tuk over the new Toyota sedan. How could you not take the Tuk Tuk!?

At the bars in Patong- you will notice koozies come with every beer order. They must be southerners at heart

The lovey ladies who take care of us
And the other bar maid who apparently had 30 shots of tequila and decided to take a nap-classic

They also had all of these random games to play. I loved it!

Onto the ice bar

Saturday. What do you get when you put 2 Americans, 1 Aussie and 15 Russians together? Why a boat tour trip to the Phang Nga Bay of course. It was a great day despite a few passing showers. All part of the experience. Although the Russian thing was a little unexpected.

We came prepared

This island is where James Bond- The Man with the Golden Gun (1974)was filmed

Leaning rock

Back on the boat, hanging out with the Aussie, Chris. Next stop canoeing!

Bats, Fish and Monkey. Oh my!

Some entrances were really tight

Off to lunch in the Koh Panyee village (Sea Gypsy Island)

I loved these hawks. They were so tame it was amazing. Naturally I had to participate

What better way than to end the day at the beach, complete with fruity cocktails

With our guide, Birdie. She was so little!

The night begins again. Near our hotel there was this VW Van that converts into a bar. Love it!

When I ordered a Pina Colada I had no idea this was the glass it came in

Out with our new Aussie friend, Chris

I end this post with something that might be shocking for some of you, but I had to do it. For about $3 USD, a fish pedicure. Definitely ticklish but worth it for baby soft feet.
