She's crafty: Hong Kong Craft Store

This isn't so much of a blog post, but more of a knowledge share for the Hong Kong peeps. I have finally found a craft store that carries a basic selection of crafting supplies! I give you the Art Shop, conveniently located in Wan Chai.  Thanks Andrea for introducing me to it! While it is nothing like a Hobby Lobby or a Michael's, this is the closest thing I have found on the Hong Kong side. My main mission: Hot glue gun, brushes and some paint. Mission accomplished! I also found twine, which I have had a difficult time tracking down. There are some craft like stores in Sham Shui Po, but I find those are mainly fabric shops, bead stores, and just randomness like purse bras. I kid you not.

Paint selection. The found acrylic paint that I normally buy at Wal Mart or Michael's. One bottle was HK$19 (US$2). They also had lots of deals throughout the store on various supplies of buy 3, get 1 free

Lots of cheap brushes (as well as high end brushes) to choose from. I got some for about US$0.50 each

All sorts of papers and journals

Cool dishes to mix paints and lots of cheap sponges

Two sizes of the glue guns. I got the large one for HK$71 (about US$9). Refills of the glue sticks will set you back HK$9. You can see them on the bottom of the shelf

Love all the colors

  2. this shop is gone. turn over rate is high in HK.
l had no trouble finding largish art supplies shops though. l ran into 1 just strolling down Nathan Road near Mongkok, and l found another in Causeway Bay. l'd only been in HK for 2 weeks.
