Saturday on Lantau Island

You don't have to travel far to really feel removed from the hustle ane bustle of Hong Kong. Hence our Saturday on Lantau Island. It is the largest island in Hong Kong and is almost twice the size of Hong Kong Island. If you have been a tourist in Hong Kong, or plan on being one, the island is famous for the world's largest sitting Buddha. We came 3 years ago as tourist and did just that. This trip was about celebrating our friend's birthday and relaxing at the beach. You can take a 60 minute ferry ride or a 30 minute train ride to get to this area. Highly recommended for these hot summer days. Happy birthday Abby!

Lunch at Stoep's

Paraglider coming in (kind of hard to see)

Cows on the beach-more on them later

Wind surfing time

Matt was cruising along

Vivek trying to hang in there

As Vivek fell off for the last time, the kids took over his board

This little doggie wore herself chasing after every ball on the beach

I guess my towel looked like a good place to crash. Good thing she wasn't a french bulldog. She may have been kidnapped

As the sun started to set, the cows really started taking over the beach

Cow whisper perhaps?

I kept thinking "until the cows come home". This was our sign that it was time to head back

A beautiful sunset to end our day
